Whether you have been mis-sold payment protection insurance or are looking to recover unfair bank and credit card charges we can help you.
If you have borrowed money on a loan, credit card or mortgage & you may have been sold or been forced to take out something that is called Payment Protection Insurance (PPI). You may be owed thousands of pounds in compensation. Payment Protection Insurance is designed to protect the borrowers' ability to maintain their repayments in the event that they get sick, or unable to work through an accident or unemployment.
If you have taken a loan out in the last 6 years with payment protection insurance, you could be eligible to claim back thousands of pounds in compensation. In many cases, PPI is unnecessary as, according to the Citizens Advice Bureau, only 4% of people ever claim on their policies, and 1 out of 4 of those claims is refused due to small print exclusions.
Of course insurance can prove very important & the problem for people whom purchase PPI is that the policy can offer little or no benefit. The exclusions lists and payment schedules are designed for maximum profits for the banks. Although this information should be obtained from you at the outset the lenders have tended to make a sale regardless of making sure the policy was suitable to yourself. This means when you come to make a claim, the insurance usually doesn't cover your needs.
When you were sold the policy your advisor should have made sure the payment protection insurance was appropriate for your circumstances at the time the advice was given.
Please check below to see if any are applicable to you:

Your claim for compensation is dependent on when you took the insurance. PPI sales only came under the jurisdiction of the FSA in January 2005. Any sales made before then are not covered by the latest rules.
However, it may still be worth complaining if you feel you have been mis-sold. If you bought before January 2005 it is likely that they will have been covered by a previous regime of rules. This means that the Financial Ombudsman Service will be able to consider these complaints.
If you took PPI after January 2005, your claim is subject to the latest rules.
